Description

Contracting Skills and Strategies is a blended course that addresses the most important principles involved in managing engineering construction industry contracts from the Contractor's perspective.

The course builds a deeper understanding of pre-award contracting decisions and their impact on the project risk profile, with additional focus on securing entitlement (time, money) during project execution.

The self-managed "Contracting Essentials" eLearning course to be taken upfront covers legal principles and contractual mechanisms relevant to most engineering and construction contracts.

This is followed by two interactive workshops which actively engage with contractual provisions and industry case studies, contrasting commercial and compensation models, adverse and value-adding contract terms, and those which govern risk, scope, obligations, entitlements, change and payment. The focus in the post-contract project execution period is on time-related provisions and securing entitlement to time and price adjustment.
