Description

The Managing Project Delivery course follows on from our “Project Management Fundamentals” training. It provides a professional development pathway by developing the knowledge and skills required to deliver projects using a predictive methodology.

Following the methodology as set out by the PMI’s PMBOK, this course examines the processes necessary to effectively start-up, monitor, control, and close-out a project. Managing project delivery introduces the practical challenges of actual project management.

Sessions include

  • Process-oriented project management
  • Planning and implementing project start-up, controlling and close-down workshops
  • Communication forms within start-up, controlling and close-down processes
  • Integrated project controlling approach (scope, time, resource and cost management; social controlling)
  • Organisational aspects of project controlling
  • Project progress reports and reporting

Learning aims

  • Understand the processes of traditional project management
  • Understand planning and controlling for the project start-up, project controlling and project close-down processes
  • Implement an integrated project monitoring and controlling approach
  • Apply these methods to a case study and real projects
