BCECA 4th Annual Conference, Energy Transition – Contracting For Success

This event is scheduled for Wednesday, 2 October, a fully virtual event delivered via a state-of-the-art meeting platform with ample opportunities for peer-to-peer conversation and networking. The key findings and recommendations from the event will then be summarised in a short report and presented to conference delegates and invited guests at an evening drinks reception in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 12 November 2024.
The UK has made strong progress on its journey to Net Zero. It has decarbonised more rapidly than any other major economy since 1990, cutting domestic CO2 emissions by almost half. The next stage of decarbonisation will be harder, with only 26 years remaining to achieve the 2050 goal.
Drawing from his wealth of experience, John Fotherby, Partner at Kingsfield Academy in his role as Chair of the European Construction Institute, will deliver a keynote address entitled ‘Energy Transition – Contracting For Success’ on the virtual stage, delving into why the approach to project delivery methodology and contracting arrangements needs to change if net zero / energy transitions are to be achieved. As anticipation builds for the upcoming panel discussion, John Fotherby expressed his enthusiasm, saying:

This free event provides an excellent opportunity for all those involved with the design and delivery of the UK’s decarbonisation strategy. The topic will be addressed from the perspective of the engineering contracting companies who are providing the infrastructure required to deliver the carbon reduction targets agreed by the UK government and globally through COP commitments.
