Who are the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB)?
The Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) is a UK Government statutory body that works with employers and training providers in engineering and construction. The ECITB reports to the Department for Education and ensures the UK engineering construction industry workforce has the skills to meet future challenges.
They invest around £25 million each year to develop and train the engineering construction workforce by supporting businesses. They achieve this through a training levy applied to engineering and construction organisations. The levy and grant approach also means the cost of training is shared more evenly between employers throughout the UK.

Besides providing advice and information on career path qualifications, the ECITB also supports re-skilling from other industries and new training to address knowledge skill gaps and shortages.
